Poof ("the app") is built and operated by George Chakama ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how Poof handles your information.
1. Information we collect
None. Poof does not have a server. There is no account system, no email collection, no telemetry, no analytics SDK, no crash reporter that sends data off your device, no advertising identifiers, and no location tracking.
2. Information stored on your device
Poof stores the following data on your device only, in your phone's local app storage. None of it is transmitted anywhere:
- Whether you've completed onboarding
- Your last-used sort preference
- Your selected theme (system / light / dark)
- Your list of hidden albums
- Whether App Lock is enabled
- Your pinned sort categories
- Cleanup history (count, byte totals, and timestamps of past sessions)
- A 24-hour log of recently deleted items (so you can find them in your phone's Recently Deleted)
- Cached storage breakdown / largest-items scan results
You can clear this data any time by deleting the app, or by using "Reset onboarding" and "Clear marked queue" inside Settings.
3. Permissions we request
Poof asks for two permissions on your device:
- Photo library access. Required. Poof needs this to read your photos and videos so it can show them to you, and to ask the operating system to delete the items you confirm.
- Biometric authentication. Optional. Used only if you enable App Lock in Settings (Face ID / Touch ID / device passcode).
4. Third-party services
Poof does not use any third-party services that receive your data — no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no Sentry, no Mixpanel, no Segment, nothing.
The app uses standard open-source libraries (React Native, Expo) for its functionality. None of these libraries phone home with your data.
5. Children's privacy
Poof is not directed at children under 13. We don't collect data from anyone, but parents and guardians should know.
6. Changes to this Policy
If we ever change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be announced in-app.
