Your photos never leave your phone.
No server. No account. No telemetry. No analytics SDK. No advertising identifiers. Poof reads from your library to show you photos and asks the OS to delete the ones you confirm — that's it.
Read the full Privacy PolicyCommon questions.
Does Poof upload my photos anywhere?
No. There is no server. Your photos never leave your phone. The app only reads from your library to show items to you and asks the operating system to delete the ones you confirm.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There's no sign-up, no email, no password. Open the app and start.
How does deletion actually work?
You mark items by swiping left. Nothing is deleted yet. When you tap "Done" and confirm, Poof asks your phone's OS to delete those items. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted (iOS) or Trash (Android), recoverable for 30 days.
Can I restore something I deleted by accident?
Yes. Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted (iOS) or Google Photos → Trash (Android) within 30 days.
Does Poof work without internet?
Yes — completely. The app makes no network requests.
What about iCloud Photos?
On iOS, Poof reads photos that are downloaded to your device. iCloud-only items show as thumbnails but their actual file size may be unknown until they download.
Will Poof delete videos too?
Yes. Videos appear in the deck with first-frame thumbnails. Long videos are a separate sort category — they're often the biggest space savers.
Why does it ask for biometric authentication?
Only if you turn on App Lock in Settings. With it on, Face ID / Touch ID is required to open the app.
Ready to clear the clutter?
Free. No accounts. No subscriptions.
